There’s an important referendum on your ballot this fall. It’s NOT a new tax. It’s a continuation of help we’ve been giving our local public schools since 2020. And with some cuts coming to property taxes over the next few years, the amount you’re paying actual decreases.
Approving this is vital to continuing the upward trend we’re on in regard to student success and teacher retention. If it doesn’t pass, due to less help from the state government, we’re looking at some difficult decisions as to what will get cut from the budget.
Strong public schools make for a strong community. So whether or not you have children in school here (public or private), properly funding public schools is vital to the health and welfare of the area.
